Responsibilities

  • Identify potential new customers and/or business relationships; conduct research studies and capture market intelligence in CRM system; plan, develop and oversee the implementation of appropriate promotional strategies.
  • Penetrate a specific market to enhance brand awareness while gathering market intelligence, generating interested target leads, and presenting to local Operations leadership for physician recruitment opportunities.
  • Recruitment activities should result in the successful credentialing and onboarding of new providers performing cases at assigned centers.
  • Utilize and own the respective elements for Market Development of the AMSURG Physician Onboarding Playbook for the successful onboarding of new providers.
  • Prepare and present opportunities, market trends, and challenges to appropriate internal leadership/staff in a timely manner and on a regular basis.
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis determining AMSURG’s competitive position. Identify opportunities and develop plans to increase market share.
  • Regularly maintain and update the database for physician and office staff contacts.
  • Develop, establish, and maintain positive relationships with credentialed physicians while regularly visiting physicians and affiliated office staff to assess any needs.
  • Provide routine communication of activity and performance reports to leadership.
  • Perform all related administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., bi-weekly expense reports, daily Salesforce updates, PTO requests, etc.).
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year Accredited College or University in Communications or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare sales experience with documented success building physician relationships, e.g., outpatient surgery center or medical device sales.
  • Microsoft Windows Office Suite experience (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • CRM experience, Salesforce preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to work well with others, being highly collaborative, cooperative, and communicative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others.
  • Ability to handle confrontations with poise and efficiency.
  • Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

Paid Time Off:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Market Development in the Greater Minneapolis area identifies, plans, develops, and executes targeted sales strategies and programs within a specific market to support AMSURG’s strategic initiatives. These efforts will culminate in the successful recruitment of local/regional providers to begin performing cases at our existing surgery centers in the following areas: Minneapolis and Blaine, MN; Wichita and Hutchinson, KS; and Joplin, MO; with additional sites as we continue to grow.

Work Schedule: This is a remote position, allowing our Director of Market Development to be based anywhere in the Greater Minneapolis, MN area (preferred) or Wichita, KS. Overnight travel up to 50% is expected for this territory, and we reserve the right to request support for other markets. Attendance at annual/biannual planning meetings in Nashville, TN will also require onsite attendance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
