Gana-A'Yoo, Limited is seeking a motivated and dynamic Project Manager to join our team in Washington DC. The Project Manager is responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and managing all facets of a construction project to ensure it is completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality. This role involves leading contract administration, change orders, procurement, scheduling, project financial reporting, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a culture of safety on the project site, ensuring that required documentation is filed.
  • Lead all activities related to contract administration, change orders, procurement, schedule, and project financial reporting.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the company's contracts and understanding of all parties involved.
  • Secure required permits and verify insurance coverage for subcontractors.
  • Facilitate project meetings to successfully coordinate work activity.
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Develop project plans and organize various tracking mechanisms.
  • Utilize existing Share Point tools and other tools to improve communication, reporting, and tracking.
  • Lead, train, and develop assistant operations support roles.
  • Lead close-out of project, including turnover of manuals and warranties and preparation of final payment documents for subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, engineering, and design firms.
  • Establish a deadline and monitor the progress of a project via scheduling software and site walks.
  • Support the company's acquisition of new work by participating in proposals and presentations as necessary.

Qualifications

Required

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of construction experience; working for a general contractor on government jobs is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a project management role with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of the strategic, operational, and financial components of a construction project.
  • Mastery of project-specific software systems including Microsoft Office suite, Procore, Adobe, Bluebeam.
  • Mastery of reading construction drawings including construction project-related drawings and specifications.
  • Strong work ethic, leadership, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • PE, PMP, LEED AP certifications.
  • SCA/DBA/Union/Government contracting experience.
  • Experience in Alaska Native Corporations and government contracting.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Meet all investigative standards for a national security background investigation.

JOB OVERVIEW

Gana-A'Yoo, Limited (GYL) is seeking a motivated and dynamic Project Manager to join our team in Washington DC! The Project Manager develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all facets necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the quality specified. The Project Manager is the primary leader for the construction project.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Drive a culture of safety on the project site, ensuring that required documentation is filed.
  • Lead all activities related to contract administration, change orders, procurement, schedule, and project financial reporting including reviewing subcontractor pay applications and negotiating subcontractor change orders.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the company's contracts and understanding of all parties involved.
  • Secure required permits and verify insurance coverage for subcontractors.
  • Facilitate project meetings to successfully coordinate work activity.
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Develop project plans and organize various tracking mechanisms to ensure all facets of project management are being adhered to.

ABOUT YOU
