Direct Care Worker - Male

AbaCares Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Male Caregiver to provide high-quality care for our clients in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), including personal care, mobility support, companionship, and community outings. The caregiver must be physically capable of assisting clients with mobility, including pushing wheelchairs and assisting with transfers.

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support clients with mobility, including transferring, positioning, and pushing wheelchairs.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities.
• Assist with meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping.
• Accompany clients on community outings, appointments, and errands.
• Monitor and report changes in the client's condition to the care coordinator.
• Follow care plans and agency policies to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.

Requirements:

• Must be male, as this position specifically requires a male caregiver to meet client preferences.
• Experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to assist clients with mobility, including pushing wheelchairs and performing transfers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must pass a background check and have a current CPR/First Aid certification or be willing to obtain one.
