Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Match purchase orders with invoices and reconcile discrepancies as necessary.
  • Prepare and perform weekly/monthly payments to vendors via check, ACH, or wire transfer.
  • Maintain vendor files and respond to inquiries regarding payment status or discrepancies.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Calculate and input payroll data including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and employees as needed.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analysis as needed.
  • Provide support to the accounting team with ad hoc projects and tasks.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) working in accounting/bookkeeping roles with a focus on accounts payable and payroll functions.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
