As the Warehouse Supervisor at Peterman Brothers, you will oversee and coordinate daily warehousing activities including shipping, receiving, put-away, procurement requests, quality, and safety. Responsibilities

  • Strategically manage warehouse and resources in compliance with the company's policies and vision.
  • Oversee and actively engage in receiving, put-away, warehousing, distribution, procurement and maintenance operations within an Inventory Management System.
  • Setup, layout and ensure efficient space utilization within the warehouse.
  • Read and analyze daily reports related to job ordering, inventory control, receiving, canceled work orders, and provide feedback to all appropriate parties daily.
  • Investigate and manipulate data sets within an ERP Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
  • Maintain and enforce standards of health, safety, and security.
  • Manage inventory transactions and reconcile within an internal WMS.
  • Interact proficiently with all levels of internal employees, branch locations, technicians, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Plan work rotations and assign tasks appropriately, appraising results.
  • Recruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate direct reports.
  • Maintain, enforce and improve 6S standards in a warehouse environment.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or relevant field
  • Proven warehouse leadership and operational ability
  • Minimum of 3 years experience supervising a warehouse team
  • Well versed in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Material handling process knowledge and experience working with a Warehouse Management System
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse Key Performance Indicators
  • Team oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive critical thinking
  • Experience with inventory management and logistics

The Role:

As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate daily warehousing activities to include shipping, receiving, put-away, procurement requests, quality, and safety. You will implement production, productivity, quality, and service standards, and achieve appropriate levels of volume within communicated deadlines to support a large-scale home services operation. Ultimately, you must ensure daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectations (KPI's) and increase productivity in line with the company's growth goals. You must be able to foster company culture and uphold high levels of leadership values as you lead a large dynamic team of warehouse associates. The ideal candidate for this role will have a background supervising direct reports across an organization with multiple shifts within a service environment. The ideal candidate will also possess a keen sense of what it takes to adjust proactively to competing priorities in a fast-paced supply chain environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategically manage warehouse and resources in compliance with the company's policies and vision.
  • Oversee and actively engage in receiving, put-away, warehousing, distribution, procurement and maintenance operations within an Inventory Management System.
  • Setup, layout and ensure efficient space utilization within the warehouse. Ability to recognize inventory movement patterns and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to read and analyze daily reports related to job ordering, inventory control, receiving, canceled work orders, and provide feedback to all appropriate parties daily.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to investigate and manipulate data sets within an ERP Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures. Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold a team accountable to daily goals and expectations and KPI's.
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements. DOT and OSHA rules and regulation knowledge is helpful.
  • Maintain and enforce standards of health, safety, and security. Must be an advocate for operating a warehouse with high levels of safety in mind and ability to champion process improvement in this area.
  • Manage inventory transactions and reconcile within an internal WMS.
  • Must have the ability to interact proficiently with all levels of internal employees, branch locations, technicians, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Plan work rotations, have the ability to be flexible with your own schedule to accommodate direct report vacations and absences and a keen ability to assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results.
  • Ability to recruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate direct reports.
  • Ability to receive feedback and grow as an individual.
  • Maintain, enforce and improve 6S standards in a warehouse environment. Continuous process improvement within a supply chain discipline.
