  • Preparation and review of fixed assets to assist in calculation of tax depreciation prepared by outside accountants
  • Research as needed, including formal documentation of conclusions
  • Assist in detailed review of workpapers for compliance and quarterly estimates and perform preparation of workpapers as needed
  • Ensure items on Tax Calendar are completed accurately before due date; help maintain Tax Calendar
  • Complete/maintain/monitor adherence to departmental policies and procedures
  • Assist with federal, state and local audits and notices for income and non-income taxes
  • Assist with SOX documentation and walk-throughs by auditors
  • Assist in integration of acquisitions
  • Improving processes including capturing data at the source
  • Other projects as requested

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of experience in a tax or accounting position
  • Highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets, Word, automated tax preparation software (CorpTax experience a plus), general ledger software (SAP a plus), depreciation software (FAS a plus)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills, customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational, communication, time management skills with attention to detail required

Preferred

  • Master's and/or CPA certificate
  • CPA certificate or enrolled agent

EyeCare Partners is currently seeking to add a Senior Tax Accountant to be a trusted member of the EyeCare Partners tax team located at our corporate offices in Ballwin, MO. The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting the Tax Director in managing all income tax compliance for the Company, including federal, state, and local income, franchise, and other taxes. The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing or reviewing schedules necessary to respond to inquiries from outside auditors and tax preparers and assists with scheduling and supervising staff from external parties in the completion of tax compliance. The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of tax compliance systems and for ASC 740 calculations as directed. Requirements include the ability to work independently, excellent communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with various computer systems. The Senior Tax Accountant must have a high attention to detail and must have strong excel skills.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Must be able to sit for an extended period of time.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Must work 40 hours each week to maintain full time status. Must be in the Ballwin, MO corporate office at least three days a week and be flexible if needed more during busy filing times.
