Apothékary is seeking a savvy and passionate Social Content Intern to assist in creating, curating, and managing content across social media platforms. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social media, digital marketing, and content creation, looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. The intern will work closely with the Social Media Manager and founder, Shizu Okusa, to produce engaging content for various platforms, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Responsibilities

  • Staying current on weekly IG Reels/TikTok video trends and quickly executing concepts relevant to the brand
  • Ideating, planning, shooting, and editing short-form video content for TikTok, IG Reels and YouTube Shorts, aiming for 8-10 pieces of content a week
  • Work closely with our founder, Shizu Okusa, to capture content in person for paid and organic usage
  • Attend local events and capture content when needed
  • Work with the marketing team to produce campaign or launch-specific content for organic and paid social
  • Create and test new recipe content using our herbal formulas
  • Support in editing videos and photos from influencers when needed
  • Ensure brand voice is unique to Apothékary and is consistent across all digital channels
  • Stay up to date with trends across platforms and present relevant ideas to the team
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality with all materials and information
  • Take on special projects as assigned which may include research into topics of interest

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or recent graduate)
  • Excellent follow-through and ability to keep the pieces moving
  • Comfortable shooting on camera and being featured in organic and paid social ads
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Proficient with CapCut, Canva, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
  • High energy and drive to produce videos daily
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with an eye and passion for creating content
  • High-level understanding of social platforms and video editing
  • Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram Reel platforms, best practices, trends, and know confidently how to captivate, grow and engage an audience
  • High-level understanding of social platforms and video editing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Passion for wellness community and herbal medicine

The role:

This role will report directly to the Social Media Manager.

Requirements

Ideal candidate:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or recent graduate)

  • Comfortable shooting on camera and being featured in organic and paid social ads
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Proficient with CapCut, Canva, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
  • High energy and drive to produce videos daily
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with an eye and passion for creating content, able to spot “content moments” and creative opportunities and execute swiftly on them
  • High-level understanding of social platforms and video editing
  • Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram Reel platforms, best practices, trends, and know confidently how to captivate, grow and engage an audience
  • You consider yourself an outstanding communicator

Time and Location:

This is a part-time and remote 1099 role, however we will require this candidate to be based in New York City to attend occasional brand events. Our team primarily works off of Eastern Time between 9:00am-5:00pm. Flexibility will be allowed between those hours, but this role will work closely in collaboration with the full time team and therefore would be expected to work between those regular daytime hours.

This position is available to start immediately. Note that job responsibilities may change based on the company’s evolving needs.
