Qualifications

Required

  • Flexible schedule with some daytime, weekday availability
  • Willingness to travel to various locations for site visits
  • Experience in the nonprofit arts and culture sector
  • Passion for equity and diversity
  • Familiarity with administrative tasks (i.e. scheduling, writing correspondence, budgeting)
  • Experience or familiarity with consulting and client services
  • Ability to meet deadlines for deliverables
  • Comfort with remote/hybrid work environments
  • Facilitation and mediation skills
  • Knowledge of anti-racism and inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) work
  • Staff and leadership experience at nonprofit arts and culture organizations
  • Understanding of the U.S. arts and culture industry history, trends and best practices
  • Proficiency in technology tools such as Google Workspace, Airtable, Calendly, Zoom, JazzHR

Preferred

  • Experience in one or more artistic disciplines (theater, dance, visual art, opera, etc)

Your Areas of Accountability

Consultants are responsible for the execution of tasks and deliverables for the project. They work in collaboration with the Project Manager to provide support and action steps for client organizations.

Associates are responsible for a variety of deliverables including the following:

  • Review of organizational materials
  • Stakeholder interviews with staff, board members, artists, and community members
  • In Person site visit(s) at various locations, nationwide
  • Written and oral organizational assessments
  • Candidate screenings
  • Thought partnership on process
  • Written and oral recommendations for organizational strategy
  • Facilitation of strategic planning sessions, search committee meetings, bias awareness workshops, and other gatherings
  • Other related deliverables, as needed

Who Are We Looking For?

This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in the nonprofit arts and culture sector, who is interested in working with nonprofit arts organizations as a consultant, nationwide. The person will be passionate about equity and diversity, and reimagining a more inclusive and accessible arts and culture sector.

ALJP Consultants must have flexible schedules with some daytime, weekday availability. Consultants will ocassionally need to travel to various locations for site visits with clients in cities like NYC, Los Angeles and Chicago.

How much are we paying and what are the perks?
