  • Teach kids basic life skills and guide them through routines like meals, dressing, bathroom use and naps.
  • Familiarize students with letters, numbers, shapes, and colors using fun educational activities like reading stories, singing songs, playing games, or doing arts and crafts.
  • Foster self-esteem in an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Encourage emotional and social development by providing one-on-one attention and setting behavioral expectations.
  • Carefully watch children for signs of behavioral or learning problems and track their progress over time.
  • Coach, mentor, train and supervise new hire and Volunteers.
  • Plan and Conduct parent-teacher conference.
  • Keep parents up to date by taking written observations of each child and logging in children’s daily activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to bend and stoop to interact on child’s level
  • Ability to play and communicate with children (run, jump, demonstrate physical exercise)
  • Ability to stand approximately 95% of the workday
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent or must be enrolled in CDA program
  • Two years’ experience working with children in a center setting
