The General Manager at Denny's Restaurant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including guest service, hospitality, brand standards execution, and employee training. This role focuses on achieving controllable profit and flow-through goals by managing controllable costs, implementing company initiatives, and developing both managers and hourly employees.   • Directs restaurant operations with responsibility for guest service, Hospitality, brand standards execution, and employee training.
  • Achieves controllable profit and flow thru goals by overseeing all controllable cost and taking the appropriate corrective action to achieve the desire results.
  • Ensures timely implementation and ongoing execution of all company and corporate initiatives and marketing promotions.
  • Develops Restaurant Managers and hourly employees through Denny’s training programs, individual development plans, and assignments.
  • Ensures all equipment and facilities are in compliance with RREMC standards and takes corrective action when required.
  • Attracts, hires, and retains the best hourly talent to meet staffing requirements and customer service standards and expectations.
  • Shares responsibility with DM on attracting, hiring & developing Restaurant Managers to make a cohesive management team.
  • Proactively handles employee relations issues and deviations from brand standards; involves the DM and HR as appropriate to resolve issues.
  • Develops and executes the local store marketing plan to build relationships with civic, business, school, and professional organizations to drive sales and guest count growth.
  • All other task and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years’ experience in restaurant management.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the RREMC organization.
  • Communicates effectively in the English language.
  • Food Safety Manager Certification.
  • Ability to identify and anticipate opportunities and implement corrective action steps.
  • Places value on diversity and shows respect for others.
  • Disciplined and flexible with the ability to adjust to changing local market and restaurant conditions.
  • Solid financial and business acumen.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Periodic travel to include occasional overnight travel.
  • Licensed to operate an automobile without hours of operation restrictions.
