Position Summary

The Éxito Case Manager is responsible for connecting parents with applicable resources within Congreso and with external referral partners, coordinating family-centered events and spaces, and fostering positive relationships to create a supportive sense of community for families across the kindergarten cohorts (Julia de Burgos Elementary School (JDB) and Pan American Academy Charter School (PAACS)). The Éxito Case Manager explores an array of family engagement strategies and implements data driven strategies that have a positive impact on students and their families. This position collaborates with families and colleagues to determine and use efforts that show positive, engaging impact for families. The Éxito Case Manager is part of a program supported by a private philanthropy and is part of a multi-year evaluation by Research for Action, which has the flexibility to change as emerging ideas are presented. The day-to-day work of this role may change based on the success of approaches taken and lessons learned month to month and year to year.

This position reports to the Innovation Manager. This is a Hybrid position with onsite work conducted at Congreso's main office, within schools, and/or a client's home.

  • Represents Congreso's mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and will be an ambassador of our work.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with school staff members (i.e. teachers, counselors, etc.) to connect families to and to identify students demonstrating a need for support, such as those frequently late or absent from school, experiencing behavioral and/or social challenges.
  • Collaborates with the Innovation Manager, Éxito team, and school partners to gather information on client and program progress and adjust strategies, where needed.
  • Builds trusting relationships with cohort families through events, conversations, resource connections, and community outreach projects to involve parents in their children's education.
  • Develops and executes outreach strategies to engage and refer families in Congreso programs and services via the Congreso Referral App and internal collaboration.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with external referral partners.
  • Maintains a record of family contact information and designs systems for regular communication and engagement tailored to family preferences and culture, such as Parent Advisory boards, family centered activities, Town Halls, etc.
  • Ensures family engagement strategies compliment and do not interfere with or overcomplicate school initiatives.
  • Tracks, documents, and prepares reports on family engagement activities and outcomes for quality assurance.
  • Identifies areas where families disengage from offered support and recommendations for programmatic changes for success.
  • Maintains record of initiative status, potential family engagement barriers, student data, and keeps case notes up to date and organized per project requirements.
  • Collaborates with the Éxito team to analyze program data and monitor student progress on a weekly, biweekly, monthly, and ad-hoc basis.
  • Regularly confers and consults with the Innovation Manager to determine and track family engagement in services as well as strategize when changes are needed.

  • Ability to effectively use standard office equipment, including a variety of common software programs such as Office365, UNIDAD, and other customized databases.
  • Follows through on assignments, works in a timely manner, within established deadlines, and completes special projects specific to the function of the department, as needed or as directed by supervisor.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective and respectful communication with individuals and groups.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills a plus.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
