Job Summary and Qualifications

Utilizes Medical Technologist skills and training to perform test of samples of blood, urine and other body fluids to obtain information utilized in diagnosis and evaluation of a patient’s medical situations. Performs laboratory tests and procedures, which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with supervision.

• Familiar with all testing performed in the laboratory.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses ability to access data, interpret age-specific needs and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist.
• Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives established annually.
• Displays courteous behavior and cooperative relationships with customers and co-workers.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological or Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science (MT/CLS) from an accredited institution.
• Or associate’s degree (MLT/CLT) and be qualified under CLIA guidelines for MT/CLS.
• Certification preferred: One to two years of experience preferred. Good communication and basic computer skilled needed.
