Sentara Health

The Hospitalist at Sentara Health is responsible for providing direct inpatient clinical care and managing medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, adult, non-surgical patients. This role involves leading the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuum of care from admission through discharge, including general adult medicine, internal medicine consults, critical care management, and management of patients with comorbidities. The position emphasizes ethical and moral conduct, acting in the best interest of Sentara Medical Group and Sentara Healthcare, supporting the mission, vision, and values to optimize patient health and well-being.

Board certification must be in area of specialty

Board eligible physicians will be considered

Certification must be obtained within 4 years of eligibility

Manage medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, adult, non-surgical patients

Lead the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency

Facilitate continuum of care from admission through discharge

Carry out duties displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct

Act in the best interest of Sentara Medical Group and Sentara Healthcare
