**Respiratory Therapist (RT) Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.
+ Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and respiratory treatments.
+ Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory support equipment.
+ Perform diagnostic testing, including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas sampling.
+ Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response or code teams.
+ Educate patients and families on respiratory care, medications, and equipment use.
+ Monitor patient response to therapy and report changes to the healthcare team.
+ Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
+ Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
+ Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Current, valid, and unrestrictedWV license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
+ Minimum of 2 yearsof recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
+ Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
+ Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
