Job Summary


The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat patients with a variety of functional, physical, and activity-related needs. The OT will develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based interventions, educate patients and caregivers, and monitor progress to support improved independence and functional outcomes.

The ideal candidate is clinically knowledgeable, compassionate, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to identify functional limitations, strengths, and individual treatment needs.
  
  
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals, clinical findings, and evidence-based practice.
  
  
• Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve functional abilities, independence, mobility, coordination, strength, and participation in daily activities, as appropriate.
  
  
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapeutic exercises, home programs, adaptive techniques, safety strategies, and assistive equipment.
  
  
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical response and functional outcomes.
  
  
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards and organizational requirements.
  
  
• Communicate effectively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary care team regarding patient status, treatment plans, and progress.
  
  
• Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and other clinical activities that support coordinated patient care.
  
  
• Maintain current knowledge of occupational therapy best practices, clinical guidelines, and applicable regulations.
  
  
• Provide professional, respectful, and compassionate care that reflects the needs and goals of each patient.
  
  

Qualifications

• Current and active New York State Occupational Therapy license.
  
  
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  
  
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, and documentation skills.
  
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
  
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  
  
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  
  
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional excellence.
  
  
• New York State OT licensure and all required credentials must be maintained in good standing.
