Identify and record/input maintenance needs.
Inspect completed work.
Participate in all training.
Perform maintenance activities on the roadway assets to include preventative maintenance and repair.
Check complaints on roads and inspects highways to determine repair work needed.
Assists with operations to maintain roadway right of way maintenance during emergencies such as natural disasters and inclement weather.
Perform routine traffic control functions such as flagging and setting up work zones.
Operates a variety of medium duty equipment including tractors, bush hogs, as well as some hydraulic equipment and power tools.
Perform physically demanding manual labor to include, but not limited to, roadway repair, bridge work orders, fence repair, cleaning and reshaping ditches, erecting signs, landscaping activities, debris and litter control.
Comply with all applicable State, Local laws, Federal OSHA requirements, and DOT regulations; assist in always maintaining a safe working environment.
Completes vehicle pre/post trip inspections daily to assure vehicles and equipment are safe and in good working order before leaving company premises and upon return
Reports any safety issues from pre/post trip inspections immediately to supervisor
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment when required
Verifies that the loads, tools, equipment, and materials are secured properly before transporting begins
Assists with all other right of way maintenance activities as directed
Obeys all traffic and safety laws and regulations
Ability to take and pass the FDOT MOT certification class
Must be available for on-call 1 week per month. This is emergency response providing traffic control and safety.
Maintains a positive public image for the company with appropriate personal conduct
Operates company vehicles and equipment in a safe, professional, and courteous manner
Perform other duties as assigned.
