- Operates as a key communication link between Supply Chain Manager and Quality Control Specialist regarding product quality and condition.
- Inspect and evaluate all grower receipts and purchased product at various cold storage facilities for quality purposes.
- Responsible for assuring quality and pack of finished product meets HGOF specifications.
- Generate detailed reports on quality and condition of product through the use of technological tools
- Analyze and monitor outstanding orders for lot compliance and quality concerns using FAMOUS software.
- Inspect and maintain record of cold storage inventory to ensure proper rotation of product
- Provide quality assurance and oversight for repacking operations
- Provide assistance in identifying and resolving unsafe situations
- Prepare and select sample products for our customers and sales team.
- Assist with customer and USDA inspectors
- Analyze issues of need to include in weekly meetings and participate in other company and team meetings
- A degree in food science or related major is preferred but not required in lieu of direct experience
- 2 years’ experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance of food products, preferably fresh fruits
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred
- Must be detail-oriented and well-organized
- Must be computer proficient
- Must be able to effectively communicate in writing as well as verbally
- Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision
- Forklift operation and current licensing preferred
