SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced laboratory technician in a part-time contractor role for about 10-30 hours a week (flexible and can increase over time). We are small dental lab in a shared office that makes night guards and essix retainers for customers online. This is a very independent and unique role that blends traditional lab technician duties with lab operations. You will be the only one in our office and have to work very independently. You MUST HAVE prior experience as a dental lab technician or dental office in fabricating night guards, retainers, etc. Please do NOT apply if you do not have prior experience in this field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lab Technician (80%)

• Fabricate a variety of hard/soft night guards and retainers in a variety of materials from beginning to end
• Inspecting impressions for quality to determine whether accuracy is sufficient
• Pouring stone models efficiently and accurately
• Understand dental anatomy and block out undercuts on models
• Vacuum-forming variety of materials for night guards (soft, hard acrylic, dual laminate hybrid)
• Trimming and polishing appliances to the highest degree of quality; must have experience and judgment on hand-work with different thicknesses and hardness of laminates
• Apply best practices, hand skills, and judgment to make the highest quality night guards
• Assist with other general duties around the lab

- Lab Operations (20%)

• Find and locate impressions in our model archive
• Issue and print shipping labels for outgoing packages
• Package and ship out finished night guards

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of lab experience fabricating high quality night guards and essix retainers from start to finish in a variety of materials and thicknesses (hard acrylic, soft EVA, hard/soft hybrid, etc)
• Very reliable and take pride in your handiwork
• Excellent focus and attention to detail
• Knowledge of dental anatomy and understanding of how to trim different types of night guards differently for optimal retention
• Ideally proficient with technology

Work Hours & Compensation

• Hours: 10-30 hours / week (flexible, can change weekly)
• Compensation: $20/hour+ depending on experience
• Hire status: 1099 Independent contractor
