Job Summary
Madison, Wisconsin’s Sprinkman Design Collective is seeking a detail-oriented, driven, and friendly Principal Interior Designer to join our design team. This candidate must be able to work on residential and light commercial interior design projects collaboratively and with confidence, as well contribute to the development and continued growth of the company and its designers.

Job Responsibilities
Overall Design Project Responsibilities
Provide opportunities, clear deliverables, and actionable feedback throughout projects to develop Interior Designers to confidently and independently lead projects in their future
Work closely with contractors, architects, suppliers, trade partners, and fabricators to meet overall project goals
Communicate updates consistently, effectively, and professionally to all parties in person, on the phone, and via email
Clearly delegate assignments to Interior Designers that assist in their growth while most efficiently and effectively helping clients
Monitor and stay within established budget and timelines while effectively managing client expectations
Provide weekly project updates to the Business Manager
Lead post-mortem meetings with staff as well as partners
Design Project Responsibilities by Phase
Onboarding
Respond to initial client inquiries and sell our services during Introductory Calls
Contact potential contractors either before or after Design Consult, review contractor contract upon receipt
Lead Design Consults with potential clients
Create accurate scope documents and estimates to review with potential clients
Create aggressive, but achievable client timelines
Recommend appropriate contractor(s) for project as needed
Lead Kickoff Meeting, obtaining all important client design preferences to inform design
Design
Create Design Concepts that both highlight the clients’ design preferences and also adhere to the design standards set by Sprinkman Design
Create light Construction Documentation and assist with red-lining Designers’ plans and elevations
Develop a holistic approach to designs that consider all aspects of a space and its contents
Source furniture, fixtures, finishes, and decor using online vendors, local suppliers, and partnerships with Interior Designers that meet established client preferences and maximize profits
Hold recurring meetings with appropriate members of the contractor teams to ensure understanding of design details
Document specifications for Procurement Manager and contractors
Lead meetings with clients to present - and effectively sell - design recommendations
Procurement and Expediting
Perform thorough evaluation and cross checking of order information prior to submission to Procurement Manager or contractor
Build Execution
Respond to contractors quickly regarding questions on design specifics
Review on-site installation by contractors at critical junctures to ensure adherence to design
Installation
Assist with coordination of delivery through local delivery services for installation
Project Completion
Supervise and assist with professional photography of finished install
Other Responsibilities
Help to grow Interior Designers’ knowledge through training, inclusion, and client deliverable assignments to work towards confidently and independently leading projects in their future
Contribute to monthly trainings for Interior Designers to grow critical design knowledge
Provide feedback on Interior Designers to Business Manager on a regular basis to strategically and positively contribute to their development
Establish and maintain partnerships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors
Seek out and participate in continued education offerings, and stay up-to-date on current design news and trends
Maintain material library and make informed recommendations for which materials to stock
Provide recommendations and oversight to the maintenance of the Sprinkman Office’s design to reflect the company’s high standards
Share feedback with the team for ways to continue to improve the client experience
Assist with write-up contributions for design competitions and marketing efforts as necessary
Meet with leadership to report on company struggles and successes on established cadence
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
5+ years full time work experience in the design industry
Proficient in design software (Revit and Enscape preferred)
Strong knowledge of residential furniture, fixtures, finishes; including an understanding of materials, sizing, installation recommendations, ideal vendors, and more
Awareness and interest in timeless, luxurious design that is bespoke, but functional for our clients
NCIDQ certification a plus, but not a requirement

Pay: Negotiable
Benefits: Paid time off, 401k
