Senior Network Engineer | Devens, MA (On-Site) | $125,000 - $135,000

We’re working with a long‑established, manufacturing business that has been operating successfully for over 100 years. The company is entering a period of sustained growth, including plans for a second location within the next 3–5 years.

They’re looking to add a Senior Network Engineer who wants real ownership and influence within a lean IT team. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys shaping infrastructure direction, improving security, and helping define how the network and cloud environment should evolve.

The environment is collaborative, relaxed, and family‑oriented, more “roll up your sleeves” than corporate.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of network and firewall strategy, leading hardening efforts across LAN, WAN, and hybrid cloud environments. The role includes designing and maintaining segmentation, improving overall security posture, managing Palo Alto firewalls, and ensuring high availability across multiple sites.

You’ll also manage an enterprise switching environment (Dell preferred), support secure on‑prem to Azure connectivity, monitor network performance and resilience, and help guide the organisation toward more modern security and cloud‑aligned architectures. There’s on‑call responsibility as part of a 24/7 operation, alongside documentation and close collaboration with IT leadership.

What they’re looking for

This role suits a self‑starter who can operate independently and proactively. You’ll need 8+ years of network engineering experience with a strong security focus, hands‑on Palo Alto firewall expertise, solid fundamentals in routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and IDS/IPS, and experience supporting hybrid on‑prem/Azure environments. Experience leading remediation, transformation, or modernisation initiatives is highly valued.

Certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP/CCIE, or CISSP are a bonus but not essential.
