**Role Overview:**
You will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality and supplier performance in a rapidly expanding manufacturing environment. Initially, the primary focus will be on supplier quality as the company integrates new suppliers for an expanding product line. Over time, the emphasis will shift towards plant quality, ensuring best-in-class quality processes in manufacturing and assembly. You will lead a team of 3 direct reports and 13 indirect reports, including quality supervisors, engineers, analysts, and technicians. This role demands a strategic leader who can drive data-driven decision-making, improve key quality processes, and instill a proactive quality culture across the organization.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Supplier Quality & Development:**
+ Oversee supplier qualification and development to support the onboarding of new suppliers for expanded product lines.
+ Drive improvements in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and supplier compliance.
+ Enhance collaboration with suppliers to reduce inefficiencies and improve material quality.
+ Address and resolve supplier quality challenges, particularly with weldments, wire harnesses, and electrical components.
**Plant Quality & Continuous Improvement**
+ Strengthen quality control networks in assembly and paint operations as new products are introduced.
+ Implement poka-yoke (error-proofing) strategies to enhance production reliability.
+ Improve control plans and quality gates within the plant to ensure higher first-pass yield and reduce defects.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive quality improvements.
**Leadership & Team Development:**
+ Provide leadership to a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of problem-solving and accountability.
+ Enhance team collaboration across supplier, plant, and customer quality functions.
+ Utilize data and metrics to drive team performance and ensure alignment with company goals.
**Strategic & Data-Driven Decision Making:**
+ Lead quality initiatives that support the successful launch of expanding product line
+ Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs), including PPAP first-pass approval rate, PPM, customer quality audit scores, and PDI error rates.
+ Ensure ISO compliance and maintain a strong Quality Management System (QMS).
**Who We're Looking For: A Results-Driven Professional With:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred).
+ 10+ years of experience in manufacturing quality management, preferably within construction equipment, industrial machinery, or automotive manufacturing.
+ Strong expertise in supplier quality development, PPAP processes, and plant quality management.
+ Proven leadership experience, managing both direct and indirect reports.
+ Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive quality decisions.
+ Strong cross-functional collaboration skills-able to work effectively with engineering, supply chain, and production teams.
+ Experience with ISO 9001:2015 compliance and continuous improvement methodologies (PDCA, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
+ Experience working in both supplier quality and plant quality roles.
+ Prior experience launching new product lines in a manufacturing expansion environment.
