Job Summary:
Miscellaneous Metals, Inc., an award-winning specialty trade contractor, is seeking a CDL Driver (Class A) to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe driving, reliability, and a strong focus on safety while transporting materials locally within the DMV area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle to transport materials to and from job sites in the DMV area.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition and report any vehicle defects or safety issues promptly to the management team.
- Secure and unload materials as needed.
- Ensure all required DOT documentation is completed, including delivery logs, receipts, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and site personnel.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and vendors.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record (DMV/MVR record with no major violations or accidents within the last 3 years).
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission.
- Strong focus on safety and reliability.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and operate the vehicle safely.
- Strong work ethic.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Ability to see and hear clearly to ensure safe driving.
- Ability to safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to maintain focus and stay alert while driving for extended periods.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform vehicle maintenance tasks, as needed.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate driving requirements.
- Ability to meet FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements, including pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.
- Maintain a valid DOT medical card throughout employment.
Working Conditions:
- Local driving within the DMV area (home daily).
- Monday–Friday schedule (Weekends Off).
- Industrial and job site environments with varying weather conditions.
