General Contractor based in the DFW-Metroplex seeking a Construction Superintendent for commercial construction projects. Ground up project experience required. Experience in one of the three sectors required: k12, higher education or healthcare projects
JOB DESCRIPTION
A Superintendent has the knowledge, skills, and experience to manage the day-to-day field operations of all aspects of a government construction project. The Superintendent is responsible for all production aspects of the project and is accountable for producing quality work that is constructed consistent with the standard's set forth in the project's contract documents, as well as performing the work in a timely and cost-effective manner, and for maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Implement all safety policies and quality programs, ensuring strong performance on safety audits
- Manage the activities of subcontractors, vendors and labor, maintaining strict control over the accuracy and quality for each work activity
- Plan look-ahead schedules, maintain project schedule controls
- Identify and report problems or deficiencies to the Director / project executives
- Document on-site activities that may impede progress or compliance to project/contract requirements
- Creates change orders to execution
- Miscellaneous purchases
- Review subcontract agreements
- Maintain strict control over the budget for each work activity
- Coordinate receipt of and inventory of all owner supplied materials
- Assist in preparation of project status report and provide complete daily reports to the Project Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience as a commercial construction Superintendent
- Previous experience overseeing ground-up construction projects within k12, higher education AND/OR healthcare sectors
- A thorough understanding of and ability to maintain a current, complete set of project documents, blueprints, revisions, specifications, and related items
- General computer skills, willingness to expand the use of new technologies for scheduling and reports
- OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid training certifications preferred, but not required.
