Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Summary: The Superintendent will coordinate all functions of the job site while providing excellent customer service. They will work together with the project superintendent, project managers, and engineers to form an effective management team for our clients. Duties include but are not limited to:
Duties:
- Coordinate and monitor the work of subcontractors, laborers, and other partners to ensure compliance with relevant laws, protection of the company from risk, and adherence to established budgets and deadlines with assistance from the Superintendent.
- Guide and assist employees in identifying, analyzing, and resolving existing or anticipated obstacles in a manner to meet task/project schedules with assistance from the Superintendent.
- Identify the causes of cost variances and eliminate negative variances.
- Maintain high-quality control while implementing good construction safety practices with all on-site activity and conduct safety meetings.
- Assist in conducting systematic quality control inspections and accurately document project work situations in a timely manner, both written and verbal, to ensure the protection of the company through proper documentation (i.e., possible liens and/or claims).
- Prepare daily logs, handle deliveries, and manage job site cleanliness and safety.
- Learn, understand, and follow state and local codes.
- Understand and enforce O.S.H.A. requirements.
- Report accidents, incidents, or illegal activities occurring on the worksite to Human Resources in a timely manner as outlined per the company policy manual.
- Inspect subcontractor performance to conform to contract agreements and schedules with assistance from the Superintendent.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and manpower with the assistance of the Superintendent.
- Assist in conducting project closings, update punch lists, and create information for record drawings.
- Maintain and keep inventory of all tools.
Requirements:
- At least five years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent or construction-related experience.
- Industrial and Government Construction experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have excellent communication skills.
- Proficient with reading, understanding, and interpreting plans, specifications, drawings, contracts, and other documents.
- OSHA 30, First Aid, & CPR Certification.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges and to attend Continual Education Classes that support current and future positions.
- Ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet critical deadlines.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) experience is required.
