Senior Construction Engineer/Manager - Public Works

LAE is a provider of Professional Municipal Public Works Engineering Management services to cities and other public agencies. The firm specializes in Project/Construction/Program Management, virtual / in-person Staff Augmentation and Inspection Services to Cities.

Who we are looking for:

A Public Works Construction Engineer/Manager to manage projects remotely on an as-needed, project base (e.g. roadway resurfacing/rehabilitation/reconstruction, water, sewer, storm drain, parking lots, parks and traffic signal). The selected person will be managing a variety of Capital Improvements Program (CIP) projects for our City and Water District clients in various counties. The ideal candidates should have at least 12 years of professional and technical experience working on public works

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with our engineers, project managers, public works inspectors, outside civil/traffic design and geo-technical engineers
• Manage a variety of roadway, storm drain facility, water, sewer lines and utilities projects
• Prepare project schedules and track progress of various projects
• Work as an extension of our public sector clients staff
• Attend and participate in various meetings
• Perform other Public Works project management functions as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering/Technology, Civil Engineering and/or sufficient Industry experience
• Seven to ten years of public/private sector construction, technical or engineering experience
• Ability to meet deadlines and complete public works construction projects on-time and within budget working remotely
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• The position requires occasional driving
