**Work Shift:** Tuesday - Saturday from 8am - 4:30pm.
**Work Type:** This is an On-Site role based out of our Laboratory in Morrisville, NC.
The Target Pay for this position is $16-18 an hour. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
**PURPOSE OF JOB:**
The Accessioner/Data Entry Specialist enters patient, client and test information into the Laboratory Information System. They also receive and prepare samples for laboratory analyses and tests.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
_To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. + Entry of information from test requisition forms.
+ Verify and reconcile information on test requisition with the sample information previously ordered entry.
+ Properly route non-matching "problem" test requisitions to PI.
+ Assists other lab personnel with specimen storage.
+ Ensures documents are completed according to established SOPs. May sort incoming specimens for processing. Prepares and ships supplies, including processing related documentation. Performs variety of administrative duties, such as answering and routing incoming calls, maintaining visitor logs and other related activities.
+ Generate and send reports.
+ Assists with archiving of study related documentaion.
+ Completes all documentation in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (21CFR Part 58)
+ Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology, specimen processing procedures and equipment helpful.
+ Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks to learn through experience.
+ Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
+ Basic skills with moderate level of proficiency.
+ Applies job skills and lab policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent, 2- or 4-year degree in science related field preferred.
+ Laboratory and or GLP experience a plus
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**
+ Laboratory skills, with experience helpful
+ General science background, including hematology/chemistry helpful
+ Attention to detail
+ Organized with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Communication skills, both verbal and written
+ Positive, can-do attitude
+ Basic math, interpretive and analytical skills.
+ Data entry skills required
+ Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**
+ Extensive sitting, and computer use
+ Heavy keyboarding and manual dexterity
+ Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers
+ Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
+ May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
+ Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
+ Hearing ability to effectively communicate via the telephone and in person
+ Ability to communicate verbally on the phone and in person
+ Fluency in the English language
+ Extended hours may be needed
**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
+ Laboratory environment with potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE.
+ Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
+ Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals is available from department supervision.
