**The** **Smidt Heart Institute** is home to a distinguished team of experts who are setting the bar for cardiovascular care in the United States.

Summary of Essential Duties:

+ Performs EKGs correctly and with no errors

+ Enters all patient data accurately into EKG machines and computer system

+ Prepares procedure/ exam room and equipment for procedures

+ Explains test procedure to patient. Prepares patient for procedure and monitors vital signs

+ Prepares patient in hook-up of event monitors and receives telemetry data by phone

+ Independently performs late potentials

+ Hook-up holter monitor and scans holter data for physician's interpretation

+ Hook up and perform T-wave alternans exercise procedure

+ Connect and download blood pressure monitoring equipment

+ Cleans, tests and maintains equipment

+ Responds to requests in a timely manner, establishing appropriate priorities for STAT requests

**Qualifications**

**Education:**

+ High School Diploma or GED required

+ Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technician program preferred

**License/Certifications:**

+ BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

+ Certification as a Cardiovascular Technician required or willing to obtain within 3 months from start date

**Experience:**

+ A minimum of 1 year of Cardiovascular Tech experience in a Medical Center setting required
