Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - North County San Diego, CA

Pay: $30-$35 per hour (DOE)

Per Diem & Full-Time | School-Based | K-12 Support

Location: San Diego, California (North County School Districts)

Start Date: ASAP - End of 25/26 School Year

Schedule: Monday-Friday, school-day hours

Contract Length: School Year (Opportunities to continue into 26/27)

Position Overview

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to provide medical and health support services to students across multiple North County San Diego school districts.

This role may include health office coverage, 1:1 student support, and implementation of student-specific care plans under the direction of district nursing leadership. LVNs play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy school environment while helping students access their education safely.

The ideal candidate is confident working with a variety of medical needs, adaptable in school environments, and committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Minimum Requirements

+ Active California LVN license

+ CPR/BLS certification

+ Current negative TB test or chest X-ray (as required)

+ Must be comfortable working with trachs (required for some placements)

+ Ability to follow individualized health plans and emergency protocols

+ Must be at least 18 years old

+ Must meet all district, state, and federal compliance requirements

+ Strong communication and professionalism

Key Responsibilities

+ Provide health office coverage, triage, and general student care

+ Administer medication following district policy (med pass)

+ Deliver care according to individualized Plans of Care

+ Support students 1:1 who may require assistance with:

+ G-tubes

+ Trachs

+ Catheters

+ Diabetic care

+ Seizure monitoring

+ Maintain accurate documentation and follow reporting guidelines

+ Support emergency response as needed

+ Collaborate with school nursing staff, administrators, and educators

+ Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school health protocols
