Machine Operator
The opportunity:
The Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of the production machines during their shift, he or she will ensure the Injection machines and auxiliary equipment continue running by attending to the alarms as necessary, monitoring all feeding tubes and convey systems i.e. Conveyors, blenders and end operations equipment necessary to run safely and efficiently.
The Machine Operator will be responsible to carry all aspects of produced parts in real time, labor, packaging and labeling to ensure quality standards and traceability.
The Machine Operator will troubleshoot as needed in order to successfully clear the alarm codes the machine displays and will ensure the production floor area is maintained in constant state of organization and cleanliness. In the absence of the Mold Machine Lead, this position reports to the Process Engineer.

Duties and responsibilities are not limited to and are as follows:
* Perform all work in accordance with the highest standards of SMURFIT WESTROCK-Vitop safety policies, ensure all safety policies and processes are enforced.
* Successfully complete all essential training.
* Work directly with Injection molding machines, feeders, vacuum loaders, and material conveyor systems.
* Perform alarm troubleshooting.
* Operate label printer.
* Fill out and maintains traceability log sheet for quality.
* Perform part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
* Generate documentation on changes that can be used to control traceability and ensure reproducibility.
* Follow established procedures in order to maintain a clean and organized environment.
* Adhere to lock-out tag-out policy and procedures.
* Preform all duties safely and efficiently.
* Work with all departments to meet daily tasks.
* Back up other team members, when necessary, regardless of department and as assigned by the Supervisor.
* Other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
* Education/Qualification/Experience
* High school education or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Minimum of 2 years\u2019 experiences in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights, overtime, and weekend assignments.
* Ability to work in a team environment and rotate jobs or shifts as needed.
* Experience with basic hand tools required.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of safety practices and expectations.
* Knowledge of quality practices and expectations, and respect for product.
* Ability to effectively communicate.
* Knowledge of OSHA requirements to include Machine Guarding and Lockout/Tagout Procedures.
* Knowledge of Safety ,5S, LEAN /TPS Toyota Production System a plus.
* Understanding standard work (SOP\u2019s).
* Understands and follows Company\u2019s quality and corporate/environmental policies.
* Understands and follows procedures and work instructions established by SMURFIT WESTROCK- Vitop, USA.

* Skilled in lifting heavy packages and objects.
* Skilled in operating pallet jacks.
* Skilled in problem solving.
* Basic reading and math.
* Basic computer skills (i.e., email, data entry).
