Medical Assistant
Job Description
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for rooming patients and preparing rooms for patient visits. This role involves collecting information from patients and entering data into the EMR system. The clinic provides a range of care including chiropractic, alternative medicine, spine care, and pain management. The Medical Assistant may also receive training to set up rooms for procedures in specialty areas.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare and maintain patient exam rooms and equipment, selecting appropriate instruments while adhering to aseptic and sterile techniques
+ Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain brief medical histories and vital signs, and update medical records for provider review
+ Administer immunizations and injections; perform venipuncture, urinalysis, and other clinical procedures with accurate documentation
+ Properly collect, label, and package specimens for laboratory analysis as needed
+ Assist physicians during patient examinations and procedures
+ Greet, register, and check in patients; obtain and update demographic information, referrals, and authorizations
+ Schedule clinic appointments and ancillary testing while maintaining accurate scheduling records
+ Receive, screen, and route incoming phone calls; document and relay messages to appropriate staff or departments
+ Clean, stock, and organize patient exam rooms to ensure readiness and compliance
+ Medical Assistant are responsible for pre-charting.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with Epic EMR system.
+ Certified Medical Assistant certification or Medical Assistant Diploma
+ At least 2 years of experience is required.
+ Experience with pre-charting is highly preferred.
+ Must be comfortable working in a high volume fast paced clinic setting, supporting multiple providers throughout the day.
Work Environment
The position is based in Wauwatosa, with occasional coverage needed in Menomonee Falls. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 7:30am to 4:00pm depending on the clinic procedure schedule. The environment offers learning and growth opportunities as it is part of a teaching hospital, and is a great opportunity for Medical Assistants learning to expand their scope and work with the best of the best!

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
