The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the walk-in clinic of the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include rooming patients, checking vitals, and stocking rooms with necessary equipment. Administrative tasks involve checking patients in and out, verifying insurances, updating health charts, and answering calls. The position requires strong computer skills, the ability to work independently, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service abilities.
Responsibilities
+ Room patients and check vital signs.
+ Stock rooms with necessary medical equipment.
+ Check patients in and out and verify insurance details.
+ Update health charts and maintain accurate records.
+ Answer phone calls and provide information as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of medical assisting and patient care.
+ Experience with EPIC as the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
+ Ability to handle a wide range of patient ages.
+ Strong communication and reliability.
+ Initiative and problem-solving skills.
+ Phlebotomy experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA specific).
+ Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
+ Experience in insurance verification.
Work Environment
The role involves working an 8-hour shift from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, with weekend shifts required. The opportunity presents a foot in the door to Stanford Health Care, renowned as a top 10 hospital in the country. There is a high chance of extension covering for a maternity leave.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
