This opportunity is for a registered nurse specializing in neurological critical care, focusing on the assessment and management of complex neurological patients in an intensive care setting. Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neurological patients, including those with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, post-operative craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurological tumors
• Conduct thorough neurological and hemodynamic assessments for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients
• Manage advanced neurological equipment such as Alaris pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, neuroptics pupillometer, and utilize EMR systems (Epic) effectively
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while floating to other inpatient units as needed
• Maintain high standards of patient care, adhering to unit protocols and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure with a minimum of two years neuro ICU experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required
• Strong skills in neurological assessment, ventilator care, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with pupillometry, external ventricular drains (EVD), intracranial pressure (ICP) waveform management, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) preferred
• Positive attitude, flexibility, empathy, and team-oriented mindset

Schedule

• Full-time, 36 hours per week (0.9 FTE)
• Day shifts
• Every other weekend commitment
• Floating to other inpatient areas when census requires
