Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a hospitalist locum tenens assignment at a critical access hospital in Nags Head, NC.

This coastal opportunity offers consistent afternoon/evening coverage, a manageable inpatient volume, and no ICU responsibilities—making it ideal for experienced advanced practice providers looking to work and unwind on the beautiful Outer Banks.

• Credentialing: Must attend onsite orientation the day before first shift

Schedule

• July 7–11: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• July 14–18: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Block Coverage Required: Must be available for full two-week assignment

Daily Responsibilities

• Focus on admissions, consults, and co-management of ED holds and admitted patients

• No ICU coverage or critical care procedures

• Respond to inpatient codes (no ED response required)

• Collaborate with a seasoned hospitalist team:

  • 2 Physicians

  • 4 Advanced Practice Providers

• Average Inpatient Census: 17–21

• Average Admissions per Day: 4–6 (day) | 5–7 (night)

• Average APP Census: 8–10

Candidate Requirements

• License: Active North Carolina NP or PA license

• DEA: Required

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA Required)

• Experience: 2+ years of inpatient APP experience preferred

• Other: Must be available for full July 7–18 assignment; must attend orientation prior to first shift
