Draw quality blood samples from patients across various age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety protocols.
Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and verification of patient information.
Explain procedures to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens post-venipuncture.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions and specimen collection activities.
Uphold a safe, clean, and professional environment consistent with organizational policies and safety standards.
Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors, demonstrating leadership behaviors and process excellence.
Required Skills
Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on clear communication and professionalism.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation.
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.
Flexibility to work multiple shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
Ability to travel between multiple locations and work flexible hours with short notice.
