Pipefitter / Industrial Pipe Technician
Houston, TX
$25–$33/hour
Full-Time | Overtime Available
Schedule: Monday–Saturday | 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM
About the Opportunity
We are hiring experienced Pipefitters / Industrial Pipe Technicians to join a high-performance manufacturing team in Houston. This role is ideal for skilled professionals with strong blueprint reading and fabrication experience who are comfortable working night shifts and long hours.
You’ll play a key role in building and assembling piping systems used in industrial applications, with consistent overtime and competitive pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Select proper pipe types, sizes, and materials based on specifications
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe using hand tools, cutting equipment, and pipe machines
- Assemble and install metal and non-metal piping systems (including steel and stainless steel)
- Interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings to execute builds accurately
- Perform MIG welding setups and assist with fabrication as needed
- Manage and track material inventory; coordinate with warehouse for replenishment
- Support inventory audits and maintain accurate material records
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace following 5S standards
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures at all times
- Participate in safety training and proactively identify/report hazards
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of pipefitting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and pipe & instrumentation drawings (P&IDs)
- Strong knowledge of pipe schedules, materials, and fittings
- Experience using pipe cutting, threading, and bending equipment
- Basic MIG welding setup experience
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
- Solid math skills for measurements and layout
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Good communication skills (English, written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical training or certification in pipefitting
- Experience with automated pipe fabrication equipment
- Forklift or crane certification
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
- Advanced fabrication and installation experience
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing/shop environment (non-climate controlled)
- Standing for extended periods (10+ hours per shift)
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
- Regular bending, reaching, twisting, kneeling, and climbing as needed
- Required PPE: safety glasses, steel-toe boots (hearing protection recommended)
Compensation & Schedule
- $25–$33/hour, based on experience
- 11–12 hour shifts, Monday–Saturday
- Consistent overtime available
