Job Summary
We are seeking a highly competent and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical/Surgical team in Augusta, GA. In this role, you will deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care to a diverse population of adult patients on a med/surg unit, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support excellent outcomes and foster a culture of nursing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of med/surg patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor interventions and evaluate outcomes.
• Administer medications, therapies, treatments and monitor patient responses; ensure safe practice and escalation when needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, allied health and support services to coordinate care, facilitate transitions and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, medications, procedures, discharge instructions and self-care management.
• Document all care, assessments, interventions, teaching and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, shared governance, evidence-based practice and quality/safety efforts.
• Serve as a role model, mentor or preceptor to new or less experienced nursing staff; support a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Uphold patient safety standards: infection control, fall prevention, alarm management, safe patient handling and patient identification.
• Use resources (human, material, technological) responsibly; engage in continuing education and competency maintenance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia (or Compact License as applicable).
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Preferred: Minimum 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience (med/surg or equivalent).
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, time-management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change and prioritize multiple patient needs while maintaining compassionate care.
