Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership and in collaboration with a nurse preceptor and nurse educator along with an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse Resident utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, and policies and procedures of the hospital. This position develops a plan of care, which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family. Providing emergency response to inpatient and ED, hospital resource nurse for all areas. IV vascular training included with orientation.

Education

· Completion of a formal Nursing program.

· Associate’s degree in Nursing

Licensure, Certification, Registration

· Registered Nurse, State of CT

· Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

· Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties

· Critical care requirements of 2 year experience.

· Must be able to effectively communicate information in English.
