Searching for a job is a job - but it isn’t one you are paid to do. In fact, searching for a job can actually be expensive depending on the tools and services that a job seeker uses. In this pulse survey recorded in July 2024, we asked EarnBetter users about how expensive their job searches are. Here are the results.
A little more than 25% of surveyed users have paid for job search support services.
Of the survey respondents who indicated that they had been paying for job seeker services, 37% of them report having spent over $100 on their job search, and approximately 10% indicated that they had spent over $500 on their job search.
Based on the survey data, the most common tools and services that people spend on are access to paid job sites, resume and cover letter tools, and 1-1 coaching or consulting services.
For survey respondents who indicated that they had paid for job search support services, less than 10% of users noted that they were satisfied with the results of the services that were provided.
